Bitcoin News - The Crypto Hollywood film turned out to be an anti-crypto film allegedly sponsored by JP Morgan.

“The recently launched trailer promoting the movie with Kurt Russell in the lead role gives a hackneyed idea of crypto as a criminal tool.

As a rule, when Hollywood falls on a particular topic, it is a sign that this particular topic has become really popular in society. This was the case with Angry Birds and Emojis, and now the world-famous film studio has taken up the topic of cryptocurrency.

As previously reported by U.Today, the film is simply called Crypto. The main parts were made by Bo Knapp and Kurt Russell.

Broken expectations
An attractive title suggests that the film is focused on the digital asset industry, which has been around for ten years, and which will help viewers to better recognize it in the form of entertainment.

Despite this, after watching the trailer, which lasts about two minutes, you feel disappointed to see that this is another crime movie. Its authors, obviously, did not even have the slightest intention to present the cryptocurrency to movie lovers.

Story line
The story of the movie from the trailer tells a young financial expert. He is sent to his hometown to help investigate the money laundering scheme, which is known to be associated with an art gallery.

The film uses real cryptography, at least its name is “Deltacoin”. The main character meets the bill with millions of dollars in this digital token. The address or phone number of the owner cannot be found.

Then it turns out that this belongs to the Russian mafia, and all this is nothing but a way to launder dirty money.

The trailer shows a lot of shooting and abducted people. The slogan reads: “Fear is the ultimate currency.”

Another step from the mass adoption
In fact, instead of a movie that will open cryptography for a global audience, we have another criminal thriller that develops a stereotype about bitcoins and other digital currencies used only in the criminal world and the grim network.

Not a word is said about decentralization and the freedom that the cryptocurrency economy hopes to give to people all over the world. All attention is focused on creating an exciting movie, "blockbuster" with a small description of the new technology. The good old "Russian mafia" gives the history of traditional cheese flavor.

Nothing is mentioned about the “know your customer” security measures and anti-money laundering schemes that are being implemented all over the world to prevent criminals from using cryptographic protection.

Did the movie sponsor the banks?
In fact, the film plays along with the usual crypto haters and competitors - the world's largest banks, which, rejecting the idea of cryptography that can surpass them, build blockchain-based payment systems to stay in business.

These banks include JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Citygroup, etc. The first, by the way, recently released its own digital coin. However, it will not be available for future use and is intended only for internal use - for VIP-clients of the bank.
