More than 50 percent of bitcoin nodes belong to only three countries.
A recent study of DataLight reveals the countries with the most bitcoin nodes as of February 25. The United States and Germany are responsible for 44.08 percent of all available bitcoin nodes.
World of differences.
Bitcoin nodes are needed to maintain network stability and security. However, there is a regional shortage of available nodes. The lion's share of them, as the map shows, is located in only three countries: the USA, Germany and France, with 2,625, 2,016 and 698 reachable nodes, respectively. For comparison, in Kenya, where Bitcoin is becoming increasingly popular, there are only four nodes. It is worth noting that, at present, China controls only 3.90 percent of all nodes in the world due to recent regulations that require all nodes to be registered with the government in order to gain legal status.
More cautions.
Bitcoin nodes require electricity, but the problem is that those who manage them do not receive a reward for mining. Therefore, there are only altruistic intentions to protect the network. On the other hand, many Bitcoin enthusiasts simply cannot support the network due to the monopoly of ASIC.
