Japan will include cryptocurrency provisions in the Law on Financial Instruments and Exchanges


Japan’s Council of Ministers this Friday proposed a series of amendments to the Law on Financial Instruments and Exchanges and the Law on Financial Settlements, aimed at securing certain rules for regulating the cryptocurrency market, according to a local edition of the Nikkei.

Sony and Fujitsu are developing a blockchain platform to counter fake education diplomas.

The Japanese multinational conglomerate Sony and IT equipment maintenance company Fujitsu created an encrypted database for vocational education documents, The Asahi Shimbun reported February 26.

The database, which reportedly uses blockchain technology, is necessary to prevent falsification of documents on language skills that some foreigners allegedly use to obtain resident status for training in Japan.
