Vitaly Buterin gave an interview to Business Insider, where he shared his views on cryptocurrency. He remembered how he came to this area:
“When I came to the cryptoindustry in 2011, everyone didn’t just call it Bitcoin-space. He took the first steps as the founder of a print and online magazine Bitcoin. Then he threw the university in order to do what he loved. ”
It was a turning point for Vitalik Buterin. He realized the potential of cryptocurrency and then decided to create Ethereum as a “blockchain with a built-in programming language”.
To the question, what was the biggest problem of Bitcoin, which he tried to solve with Ethereum, he answered:
“I was strained by the limited functionality of Bitcoin. Think about the difference between a pocket calculator and a smartphone, where there is everything. ”
Vitaly Buterin added that the basis for the creation of Ethereum is "increasing the capacity of the system by increasing its functionality and versatility of the blockchain."
