The scammer stole 2.9 million EOS and tried to get them through Huobi.

The manufacturer of EOS42 units reported that as a result of the failure, an unknown person managed to withdraw 2.9 million EOS for a total of $ 7.7 million from the hacked account. The offender sent the money to the cryptocurrency exchange Huobi. Employees of the trading platform instantly froze the account. About this representatives of cryptobirgy tweeted.

The offender used to steal funds that 1 of 21 manufacturers of EOS blocks did not fulfill the requirement to update the “black list” of ECAF accounts. Why
BP, known as games.eos, did so, it's hard to say.

Upon learning of the incident, EOS42 made a proposal to cancel all keys to the blacklist accounts. According to the manufacturer of the blocks, it is easier and more efficient than imposing a "veto" on one of BP. Note, after resetting the keys, the opportunity to save the account and give it to the real holder remains.
