The head of the blockchain startup ConsenSys, Joseph Lubin, during the SXSW conference expressed the opinion that, thanks to the widespread adoption of blockchain technology, the world economy will grow 10 times over the next 10-20 years.
He noted that at the present time, not so many “normal” people use blockchain-based systems. Explaining this phenomenon, Lubin drew an analogy with e-mail, about which few people knew in the 80s of the last century:
“In 1983, there were not so many“ normal ”people using email.”
In addition, during the speech Lubin turned to the topic Ethereum 2.0. According to him, the updated network version of the second largest cryptocurrency capitalization will be devoid of many shortcomings. Also the head of ConsenSys did not forget to mention Bitcoin:
“Bitcoin and the current version of Ethereum need special equipment, burning a huge amount of electricity, only to ensure network synchronization. After 18 months with Ethereum 2.0, we will have a more powerful and scalable blockchain system that uses many times less energy. ”
Recall that at the end of last year, Joseph Lubin announced strategic changes in the startup ConsenSys.
