The Mercury FX payment provider uses Ripple's xRapid technology.

The international payment transfer provider Mercury FX has announced an expansion of cooperation with Ripple.

As part of the partnership, Mercury FX plans to open 10 new payment corridors based on the xRapid solution using the XRP token by the middle of this year. As the head of the company Alastaur Constance noted, such an approach would allow quick and cheap transfers from the UK to Canada and to the Middle East. The new solution will cover other countries, including Mexico and the Philippines.

Constance also noted that xRapid will show users the benefits of distributed registry technology.

"If the payment goes a hundred times faster, and consumers pay less, then I think it is just fine," the head of Mercury FX said.
Mercury FX was founded in 2007. The offices of the payment provider are located in London, Hong Kong and Cape Town. Specializing in cross-border payments and transactions in the foreign exchange market, Mercury FX is positioning itself as an alternative to banks.
